🧃The Content Creator Starter Pack: The Best Easy Tools for Creating Content

  • I’ve been doing this for almost 2 years now and I’ve made well over 1,000 short form videos. Creating engaging content is the name of the game but that’s always changing - I’ve changed my formats so many times I can’t wait for one day to show the progression because embarrassingly I’ve come a long way..

  • Whether you're a newbie or a seasoned creator it will always be a journey, but with the right tools & mindset, you'll be well on your way to a long standing consistent career.

What Camera/Tools are Best for Content Creating?

    1. iPhone - Obviously The Ultimate Starting Point: Your smartphone's back camera is the ideal lens for short form content creation. I love a .5x back cam moment, channeling my inner Victoria Paris, but you do whatever is best for you. this is just The Gen Z way to film vlogging type vids & pics.

    2.  Zhiyun Crane M2 Mini Gimbal: The Zhiyun Crane M2 Mini Gimbal is a game-changer. It helps you achieve that steady, professional-quality like footage when you’re doing a lot of movement when filming. Seamless pans always are nice to watch in video but is really a nice to have piece of equipment (not necessary but my fav thing I own for content creation).

    3. Sony ZV-1F: If you’re looking to upgrade your back camera but don’t want to break the bank, Sony's line for content creator-friendly cameras are worth exploring. This one, in particular, is budget-friendly ($500) and features a flip screen for self-recording. However, transferring footage to your smartphone can be a minor inconvenience.

    4. Canon EOS R50: Priced at ~$800, the Canon EOS R50 is a versatile choice, amazing for photos and still videos. It’s not ideal for vlogging, but it offers exceptional color and sharpness. I used this for ‘podcasting’ type videos and it was perfect.

    5. Sony ZV-E1: Another great option from Sony's content creator lineup so I’ve heard.. I just ordered it and it comes in this week - I’ll keep you updated on it!

    6. Bluetooth Mini Lapel Mics: Affordable Amazon clip-on microphones come to the rescue whenever I’m filming outside. They ensure clear audio even in noisy or windy environments. Great sound always makes any video 10x better so def worth the investment especially at this price.

What Apps Should Content Creators Use?

  1. CapCut - Your User-Friendly Editing Ally: CapCut is a beginner-friendly video editing app that will help you craft professional-quality content quickly and efficiently. It's a must-have for creators at all levels especially newbies.

  2. Remini Pro - Elevate Your Content Quality: To enhance the quality of your IG Stories and short clips, consider investing in Remini Pro. While it comes at a cost, it significantly sharpens the visual appeal of your content for both images and videos.

  3. Adobe Photoshop - A Creative Powerhouse: Mastering Adobe Photoshop at a basic level can revolutionize your content. I use it to create unique visuals for my businesses IG Reel covers & static posts.

  4. Canva - Your Graphics Companion: Canva's paid features are worth exploring, especially if you're keen on crafting eye-catching graphics for your page. It's a versatile tool for content creators looking to enhance their visual storytelling but I don’t use it for video stuff.

  5. Adobe Podcast - Transform Your Audio: Don't overlook Adobe Podcast, where the 'Enhance Your Speech' tool is a hidden gem. It's a free feature that transforms your audio voiceovers into professional-grade recordings, an under appreciated asset in the content creation toolkit.

Mindset:

  1. Energize Your Content Creation: Find your peak productivity hours for organic and compelling filming. Forced content creation rarely resonates on camera; your genuine enthusiasm shines through in your work so if you’re ever forcing yourself to film it will show..

  2. Authenticity Reigns Supreme: Identify the content topics and formats that enable you to be yourself on camera. Genuine, unscripted content builds a devoted audience. Your ease in front of the camera reflects in your content's consistency and engagement.

Your journey can begin with just a smartphone. But, as your skills grow, consider investing in equipment that aligns with your content goals. Keep it real, find your flow, and continue iterating on your content. There’s always room for improving and trying new things.

Hope this was helpful! x
